The function of the pruner power system is to supply sufficient cutting force to cutting system when initiated by the operator. A ball screw and brushless 18V motor are used to achieve this. The torque input for the system is delivered by a Makita XDT08 Impact driver. The input torque produces a linear thrust push/pull to the cutting system through the usage of a linear motion ball screw and nut.
