The manufacture of the parts required for the Cutting System required minimal work.  Parts required included the Blade, the Anvil, and the Linkage Pair.  Each component was produced from a sheet of stainless steel using the laser cutter table at the H.F. Hauff machine shop.

Further work was required to finish the parts.  This involved grinding surfaces to have the Cutting System parts mate well with the rest of the pruner, as well as grinding the Blade to achieve its sharp edge.  A similar sharp edge was placed onto the Anvil so as to apply a better shearing action to the tree branch.  As a result, the force produced by the Impact Driver could be reduced.
